Solo Exhibition
»Pictures of an Exhibition 1982 – 2017«
Dietmar Bührer
For 35 years, German photographer Dietmar Buehrer has captured the interaction between art and exhibition visitors in magical images and created a new artistic dimension himself. The exhibition also celebrates the 70th birthday of the ever-present artist and publisher.
Working as a printer for different newspapers, he moved to Berlin in 1970 and later became director of the printing facility at Germany’s largest prison, the JVA Berlin-Tegel. As a photographer, Buehrer is an autodidact whose images have been shown in numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad. Since 1984, he is publisher and editor of brennpunkt, the leading Berlin photo magazine in print. He received the Federal Cross of Merit in 2011 for his outstanding work at Tegel prison, including a documentary photo series.
The 360-page photobook “Pictures of an Exhibition“ is going to be released at the exhibition opening on 16th November.
