»Off the Street!«

Berlin1020 collective off the beaten path

Roland Groebe, Sebastian Jacobitz, Oliver Krumes, Alex Pfeiffer, Christian Schirrmacher, Martin U Waltz

Berlin1020, a collective of six photographers, represents street photography from Berlin. In this exhibition, they show everything but street photography from Berlin.

Alex Pfeiffer observes the deserted and sparse German Chancellery in his series Loneliness of Power. In Cyprus, Christian Schirrmacher reflects on life at the beach during main holiday season. Oliver Krumes is chasing light and shadows in the Japanese metropolis in his series Tokyo. Roland Groebe discovers how the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin is devouring its visitors in his series Memorial Ghosts. Sebastian Jacobitz documents people and landscape around the Mount Ijan sulfur mines in Indonesia. Martin U Waltz portraits musicians at a Kreuzberg club before, during and after their performances in his series backstage life.
