Fotografien aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg // Sammlung Benita Suchodrev
ECHOES OF WAR
Photographs from WWII // Collection Benita Suchodrev
Currently closed / Vorübergehend geschlossen
The exhibition »Echo des Krieges« (ECHOES OF WAR) shows original photographs from World War II. Photographs that follow the eyes of those who watched the events, who caused the events, and of those who experienced them. Images that capture politically and strategically important shots as well as fleeting and poetic moments. Stories as if told in pictures, the echo of which extends to the present.
Curated from the perspective of an artist and photographer, there are connections that are not strictly scientifically connoted, but document the horrors and bright moments, the effort to create aesthetic images under barbaric circumstances and the views of a world in a state of war.
The photo collector Benita Suchodrev lives and works in Berlin.
