»Allies in Berlin – The architectural heritage«
Mila Hacke
The student village Schlachtensee was built in 1957-59 as part of the American “re-education” program by the architects Fehling, Gogel and Pfankuch. The photo exhibition of Allied buildings shows architectural icons of all four powers. Mila Hacke combines her latest photographs from Karlshorst with her architectural images “Revisited – Locations of the Allies” (Allied Museum, 2010/11) and her exhibition initiative “Gifts from the Americans” (Amerika Haus, 2009). Thus, an attempt is made to consider the architectural heritage from today’s perspective.
